Competition: Deeping Individual League Series (DILS) Round 1 + Fur & Feather
First Club Day of the winter league following the Second UK Covid lockdown in November. On the club’s own stretch of the River Nene at Sibson. 15 Anglers turned up despite the forecast heavy rain conditions.
The river was just starting to lose some of the colour from the previous weekends flooding and looked to be in fine form.
Some more new and returning faces this week, welcome to Gary Boxall, Des Dalton and Paul Dotchin.
The winner overall was Des Dalton with 10lb 13oz. Des fished peg number 5 using 2 methods. Pole feeder at 5 metres with chopped worm and caster in the feeder and double maggot on the hook. Also fishing over depth on the pole using a 4gm float. Des balled in hard ground bait with chopped worm, caster, pinkie and hemp.
Second was Mick Wright with 10lb 5oz from peg number 20.
Third Paul Dotchin with 9lb 11oz from Peg number 16
In total over 90lbs were caught from this stretch of the River Nene today, Roach, Dace, Bleak, Skimmer Bream, Chub and a few very nice Rudd.
