Just in time for the new 2021-22 river season the roadway at the refuge has been levelled and completely resurfaced.
Recent Winter flooding had taken a toll on the roadway with many pot holes created
The was originally roadway was laid in March 2016.
A contractor with a digger was used to level the roadway along its length and with assistance from committee members new geotextile was laid, this prevents the limestone top layer from being compressed into the soil.
Many tonnes of new limestone top layer was then added.
Just one short stretch from the concrete road entrance to the main gate to complete.
Club members can now park at any of the three car parking areas along the length of the refuge.
All pegs on the river and the refuge are now just a few yards from the parking.
