Second trip of the season to Kingsland and the Silvers Lake for DSJAC today. Cooler temperatures and a light breeze compared to those of late. 18 Anglers were taking part in the final round of the Fenland Cup. Renamed for this year from the South Holland cup where match venues are difficult to come by. Today’s match winner would be receiving the John Slack Memorial Trophy named after a long standing Committee member.
Paul Wild needed just 3 points from this 4th and final round of the Fenland cup, fished at Decoy and Kingsland. Nathan Grech and Andy Wilson were in joint second place and only a win would have been good enough to trouble Paul. Paul managed to get 4 points and 7th place to take the Fenland Cup in 2022.

John Slack Memorial Trophy
Fine margins in the Fenland Cup were replicated to an even finer margin in the John Slack Memorial Trophy, with Kevin Crompton winning by just an ounce !
Kevin fished Peg number 2 in the middle of the 3 east end pegs and ended up with 31lbs 4oz. Fishing on the pole with Pellet and his new favourite bait punched cat meat in the margins.
Second by that agonisingly fine margin was Mike Moseley fishing peg number 1 ending with 31lbs 3oz. Mike was using Pedigree Puppy Treats on the pole at 2 + 2 up in the water.
Third was Nathan Grech with 25lbs 8oz fishing peg number 18. Nathan was fishing hard pellet on the deck at 9.5m and in his margins.

Well done our Guest Angler today Ricky Young, who finished with 54lb 7oz from Peg 13.
