It was the first club day of the summer season which starts with the first round of the knockout trophy which was held on the clubs Horseshoe Lake near Wansford.
The winner from peg 17 was Tony Johnson who fished a feeder to the far bank and also at 12 metres on the pole with worm over chopped worm and caster. He netted a near equal split of bream and carp to weigh 62lb 2oz. Second was Graham Wright with an all carp weight of 41lb 8oz from peg 38 and third was Ray Torrington from peg 9 with bream and carp for 36lb 5oz. Section winners were Neil Speechley and Stuart Baxter.
Anglers through to the next round are Tony Johnson, Neil Speechley, Ian Martin, Brian Johnson, Ray Torrington, Graham Wright, and Phil Price who gets a bye for the next round.
