Deeping were fishing for the Newman Cup at Decoy’s Lou’s lake. Loyal and long time member David Marzell won his first match cup with the club and he did it in fine style. Drawing the favoured peg 6 fishing the margin with cat meat he caught throughout the match taking good size carp to weigh 188lb 8oz. In second place was Ray Torrington on peg 13 fishing the feeder and margin with 6mm pellet to finish with 165lb 1oz, and third went to Kevin Crompton on peg 10 fishing two plus two on pellet and corn and the margin with prawn to weigh 103lb 10oz.
