After a spell of warm weather the hope was that spawning had been completed. But following a very wet 24 hours the water temperature had been greatly reduced. Not what the 14 anglers on the Silvers lake at Kingsland had been hoping for. The previous seasons 2 biggest weights had come from this venue. Competing for the Exeter Trophy, donated by the Marquess of Exeter (Burghley House), whose daughter is Lady Victoria Leatham the club’s patron.
Fishing in his first Club day this year the Club Chairman Andy Wilson won the match with 58lb 2oz from peg number 3. Fishing the top 4 of his pole in left-hand margin, using 10mm hard pellet hair rigged over 4mm pellet.
Second Place was Paul Wild with 44lb 0oz from Peg 14 and third place was Antony Johnson with 42lb 4oz from peg 7.
