Second visit of this season to Float Fish Farm and their Phoenix Lake. The weather had been pretty warm recently, but had dropped a welcome few degrees for todays match.
Eleven anglers fishing for the Newman Cup and amongst them a warm welcome back for Lee Annis. Seven years since his last outing with the club, but following recent illness keen to get back to his fishing. Ray Torrington is the current holder of the Newman Cup which was fished for on the same lake last year.
Continuing his recent run of form Nathan Grech finished in first place with 99lbs from peg number 28. Nathan started the first hour on the method feeder but spotting Pete Wray catch on Paste quickly made the switch. Nathan fished top 2 + 2 over 8mm pellets noticing the heavier pellets were giving less line bites.
Second place to Jason Chatham with 94lbs 6oz from peg number 14. Jason fished the method feeder for most of the match tight to the island and in the open water to his left.
Third place to Pete Wray with 76lbs 14oz from peg number 29. Pete fished his first hour on the method feeder and switched to paste on top 2 + 2 over hemp.
