Following the torrential downpours from Storm Babet, most local waters were significantly high. But the recent rain had ceased and some drier weather had settled in for a while.
A change of plan was needed however for the long awaited visit to Kingsland’s Big Lake. Due to a double booking, fishery owner Richard offered a free day’s fishing on Silvers Lake. Not for everyone, but Nine anglers were still up for the challenge.
Today was the fourth and final round of the Fenland Cup, two rounds fished at Decoy and two more fished at Kingsland. The angler with the best point total from all four matches declared the winner.
Also the Winner of today’s match would be receiving the John Harris Cup, donated by the owner of the former Hardware and Fishing Tackle store in Deeping St James.

Second place was Nathan Grech with 64lbs 7oz from peg number 5. Nathan used many hook baits fishing the margins.
