Following a four week delay due to flooded river conditions, it was finally time to fish the annual Fur & Feather match. Each of the 16 anglers would receive a small gift courtesy of the Club. Even the sun put in a much welcome appearance and sixteen anglers were ready to tackle the in form Sibson stretch of the River Nene.
This would be the first of five matches used to gain points for the Deeping Individual League Series (DILS).
First place on the day and taking 10 points was Jason Chatham. Fishing from end peg number 8, Jason took 9lb 13oz. Fishing double pinkie over ground bait on the 5m whip line and alternating onto an inside line on the bolo float over hemp on pinkies.
Second place was the Whittlesey winter league organiser Stephen Smith. Fishing a single white maggot on a 3m whip line down the inside over ground bait. Stephen finished with 9lb 6oz from peg number 25.
