The anglers headed to the Fish ‘O’ mania 2023 Finals venue of Westwood Lakes, Boston. It would be Swallow Lake and Pegs 1-20 awaiting the Eleven travellers. Conditions were much cooler than of late and a blustery wind would pose a challenge.
Today would be the Individual Knockout Cup Final between Ray Torrington and Ray Morland. As well as the committee Cup for the attending members of the Clubs’ committee.
Dave Preston took the honours of the day with an excellent catch of 126lb 7oz from Peg 17. Dave using his venue knowledge targeted fish shallow all day. Using just top kit + 1 in front and down the margins, Dave fed and fished white maggots.
Second place was Nathan Grech with 108lbs 7oz from peg number 8. Nathan started on the feeder but soon switched to top kit + 2 on paste.
Third Place to Pete Wray with 82lb 13oz from peg number 2. Pete fished top kit + 2 on paste as well as maggot on just top kit in front.
Ray Torrington (82lb 12oz) beat Ray Morland (76lbs 5oz) in the Individual Knockout Cup. Ray also won the Committee Cup finishing 7lb ahead of Phil Price.
