The Annual evening match on our own Horseshoe Lake and 12 Anglers hoping the later hour meant hitting feeding time for the fish. Forecast to be wet and windy, but the rain held off till late and the wind didn’t impact fishing too much.
Fresh from the Club’s Feeder fishing clinics held by Antony Johnson, several anglers were hoping to draw those much coveted far bank swims. As it turned out the fish decided not to feed on the bottom and instead took to the surface.
First place went to Phil Price with 71lbs 8oz from corner peg number 16. Phil started off on the feeder but made the switch to a surface controller and dog biscuit.
Second Place to Jason Chatham with 68lbs 13oz from peg 35. Starting with a feeder / pole combination, but swapping to pellet waggler and dog biscuit.
Third place to Steve Borrett with 55lbs 12oz from peg number 13. Yes, Steve also went for the dog biscuit on the pellet waggler.
Section wins for Mick Wright and Ray Torrington
