Float Fish Farm and their 2 Islands lake was the venue, although that second island isn’t going to be around much longer !
Lots of fish that were very active up in the water providing a good distraction whilst setting up. Anglers were pegged either side of the lake away from the middle peg numbers and the “bay of doom”.
Mick Wright finished in first place with 90lbs 4 oz from peg number 8. Mick’s approach included 8mm &11mm pellets to just off the island using straight bomb & pellet with a few on the method feeder.
Second place to Ray Torrington with 85lbs 1oz from peg number 6. Ray caught four carp on pellet using both method feeder and straight lead. The remainder were taken using short pole on cat meat in the right hand margin.
Third place to Dave Preston fishing the far side of the lake to Mick and Ray. Dave had 63lbs 10oz from peg number 32 using 8mm pellets on the bomb at 25m for all but one fish that he caught on the pellet waggler over the same line.
Section Wins to Alan Joplin, Nathan Grech and Pete Wray.
The winner of this year’s committee Cup was Ray Torrington.
