Back to Kingsland and at long last a chance to fish Big Lake for the 11 anglers on this latest club day. The forecasted thunder storms may have put a few off, but as usual the forecast changed and there was only light rain for a short period.
Today’s anglers would be fishing for the John Harris Memorial Cup. Current holder Dave Marzell would be looking to retain his 2023 title. Also, the Committee Cup was in play for the highest finishing Committee member. The Committee Cup was one of 10 Trophies that Ray Torrington secured his name on last season. More points were up for grabs in the 3rd round of the Fenland Cup. And the 3rd round of the Individual Knockout Cup would See Graham Wright fishing against Ray Torrington.
First Place on the day was Pete Wray with 128lbs 6oz from Peg number 8. Pete fished Paste on the pole at 2+3 in the left and right margins as well as in front.
Second place and Committee Cup winner was Ray Torrington with 113lbs 2oz from Peg number 2. Ray fished Paste on the pole at 2+1 in the margins.
Third place was Nathan Grech with 97lbs 7oz from peg number 9. Nathan also fished paste on the pole at 2+1 in front of his keepnets.
It proved to be a day for “hook-a-duck”, with 2 anglers managing to hook up and have a unique battle !
